This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client inquired about the implications of adding a different domain to their main shop page and whether links, images, orders, and users would automatically sync or if a full import would be necessary.
Solution:
We clarified that changing the main domain of a site is not directly related to WPML but to WordPress itself. We advised that if the client is not familiar with this process, they should seek assistance from a WPML contractor (https://wpml.org/contractors) or a developer. This professional help is crucial to ensure that all old URLs pointing to the previous domain are correctly converted to the new domain.

Please note that this solution might not be relevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your specific case. If you encounter issues, we highly recommend checking the related known issues (https://wpml.org/known-issues), verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket with us for further assistance.

Hello,

thanks for your reply.

Ok so then we're on the right track.
One more question, do you know what happens if we want to add different domain to our main shop page. Will links, images (links, names..), orders, users etc. automatically sync? Or do we have to make a full import of users, orders, translate images etc.?

Hi there.

From my understanding, you are referring to changing the main domain (default language domain) to a different one.

That is not WPML-related but it is WordPress-related as it is related to the domain of the site, of the actual WordPress install.

So, in case you don't know how to manage that, I strongly recommend a WPML contractor (https://wpml.org/contractors) or a developer who will help you migrate your current site (from the current domain) to a new one because that's an important change and you need to make sure that all the old URLs that were pointing to the old domain are converted to using the new domain that you want.

Please let me know in case I understood things wrong.
