This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to get strings from the Elementor plugin to show in the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE), but they are not appearing as expected.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, it might be because you are using a global widget that has not been translated. We recommend translating this global widget to see if that resolves the problem. For more details on how to translate global widgets, you can visit our documentation here: Translating Widgets.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, please check the related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to get strings from a supposedly compatible Elementor plugin to show in the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE).

Symptoms:
Strings from the Elementor plugin are not appearing in the ATE as expected.

Questions:
Why are the strings from the Elementor plugin not showing in the ATE?
Is there a compatibility issue with the Elementor plugin and WPML?

Hi,

before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

If the content is not appearing, then most likely that widget doesn't include any WPML support. Can you please add the specific Elementor extension you are talking about?

Check the source code to see if a wpml-config.xml is included. If not, you can generate a config as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multilingual-tools/registering-custom-elementor-widgets-for-translation/.

Best Regards,
Marcel

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.

Please log in to this hidden link">sandbox site and create a test page using the same Elementor widget.

After that, please translate it to replicate the issue. If it is replicable, please let me know so I can check it and consult our compatibility team.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi,

1) The default button widget works as expected. Kindly check this hidden link">page.

2) I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi,

You use a global widget, which is not translated. Please translate this global widget and check if that fixes the issue. (hidden link)

Best regards,
Osama
