2) Ask them to increase the WordPress memory limit.
The PHP memory limit looks fine, but WordPress uses 40 MB by default as you have now, image attached. The minimum requirement for WPML is 128 MB while recommended is 256 MB, as described here:
To increase the WordPress memory limit, you can also add the following lines at the top of your wp-config.php file:
Once done and confirmed with hosting support please re-try and it should work fine. Let me know if you still have issues with translating Contact header template and I will be glad to help.
After the downtime, I deleted the plugins and increased the memory limit to 256MB. But now I need to re-download and install the plugins. During the installation process, the "WPML Multilingual CMS" plugin can be installed successfully, but the "String Translation" plugin keeps spinning and won't install. What's the matter? Can't these plugins be deleted and reinstalled?
I’m currently trying to log in to wp-admin to check what might be wrong or whether the memory limit was increased correctly, but I’m unable to access the backend. The page keeps loading and eventually results in a server error.
In general, it looks like there may be an issue with the hosting environment. Some processes seem to be blocked, the website keeps crashing, and the backend cannot be accessed reliably. I would recommend checking with your hosting provider to see if they can identify why the server is crashing, or possibly consider migrating the site to another hosting environment.
Could you please contact your hosting support and check why the backend is not accessible, or alternatively provide FTP access in your next private reply so I can take a closer look and see whether this issue is related to WPML.
Thanks,
Drazen
