This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to translate image alt-text, but the translated page still shows the original language's alt-text when inspecting with Chrome Dev-Tools.
Solution:
We recommend going to the Advanced Translation Editor and making a minor edit to the text, such as adding a space after the full stop in the English version. After making this change, set the translation as complete. This should update the alt-text to the correct language on the translated page.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket.

I expected to see:
On the translated page, I expected to see the translated alt-text.

Instead, I got:
But when I right-click on the page and open chrome dev-tools, I can clearly see that the German alt-text is still in place.

Hi there,

Would you please go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > String Translation and search for that alt text there and see if you find an instance there?

If so please translate it there too.

Also please make sure you clear Super Cache.

If the issue persists, I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.

Make sure you set the next reply as private.

Hi there,

Thank you for the login information.

I went to the Advanced Translation editor and added a space after the full stop on the English version to make sure there was a change and set the translation as complete.

Now if you check the AlT text is in English.

Thanks.

Looks good now. Though I'm not sure why I'd have to add a space at the end of the sentence for the plugin to work properly. Would be nice if the plugin can handle this automatically. Thanks for your help!
