[Resolved] Translating pages navigation at the bottom of the page
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to resolve an issue with the translation of the navigation menu at the bottom of the page on the Greek translation pages of your site. The navigation menu link was deleted on some pages but not on others, and on one page, it correctly directs to the Greek language page, while on others, it points to the English page. Solution: First, ensure that the "Back To" Link field in your WPML settings is set to translate rather than copy. You can do this by following these steps: 1. Go to WPML-> Settings-> Custom Fields Translation section. 2. Search for the "Back To" Link field. 3. You will see a "Lock" icon next to the field. 4. Click it to unlock the field. 5. Set the field to Translate and click Save.
This adjustment should help ensure that the navigation menu links point to the correct language pages across your site. If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

1. You sent a link yesterday in order to check that portfolio page "asylopaidiou.gr" was working correctly.
2. Yes, it was working yesterday -but today the links are wrong again...
3. Note that I have not edited this page or any other page since yesterday.
4. This is the third time this is happening.
5. Portfolio pages "gretouro.com" and "proteas.com.gr" started working properly [as recorded in our support communications] and then stopped working properly.
- See our Jan. 6th messages about "proteas.com.gr" and the Jan. 9th messages about "gretouro.com". These 2 portfolio pages lost their correct settings after a while.
- The very same problem is now happening in portfolio page "asylopaidiou.gr".
6. Why is this happening?
7. Is there any chance that the translation continues to work in the background after the page is being saved -thus producing errors?
8. Is it also possible that changes in one page to affect settings in other pages?
1) I checked the "asylopaidiou.gr" post, and it seems to work correctly. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)
Would you please let me know which setting is not working correctly?
2) The answer to your last two questions is no. Editing a page shouldn't affect other pages, and the translation process doesn't happen in the background if you don't use automatic translation.
I managed to edit the links in some portfolio pages and are now working.
I also edited the TRANSLATE [not COPY] setting in Custom Fields in some portfolio pages > I was able to make a selection.
However, in some portfolio pages (see attached image) such a selection is not possible: the buttons are freezed > is there a way to make them selectable?
1- Go to WPML-> Settings-> Custom Fields Translation section
2- Search for this field
3- You will see a "Lock" icon
4- Click it to unlock the field
5- Set it to Translate and click Save
Kindly let me know if the above steps fixed the issue for you.
