Now, I thought I'd translate the whole homepage, now our FAQ page is not translating with it (the title), for example here (at the lower end @ FAQ): hidden link Please, can someone help me out, the previous version of WPML was way better, I could find all the strings etc. Now I cannot find anything and if I do translate the whole page it skips stuff that was already translated. |

Ok somehow I can barely find any strings anymore which are on the website, I scanned all plugins/themes for new strings, nothing yet :/ |

Just to clarify as well; First, I could translate a whole html code (like for the FAQ), but now it's all gone, I cannot translate the titles anymore of the FAQ's (on the homepage that I mentioned above for example). Is there anyway I can roll back to the previous version or fix this? I added all strings from all plugins/theme's etc. |

Hi, Welcome to WPML support. I will answer this ticket before the ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues. The issue with the FAQ seems to be the fact that one of the Divi plugin widgets that you use to create the FAQ section is not compatible with WPML/ Using string translation for the content of Divi is not correct and the string will be overwritten. The strings are for scenarios that they are generated by the theme or plugin themselves in the front end and not the content that you add using the plugins or tools. You will need to contact the plugin developers and share them the documentation below to help them make their plugin compatible with WPML: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/maintaining-divi-builder-compatibility-wpml/ Thanks. |

Hi! Thank you for your message! I've sent this over to the Divi Support. One thing tho, I was always able to translate the whole FAQ section before the new String translation update in WPML, so I'm not sure if the fault is really in Divi to be honest. I was always able to fully translate the whole 'HTML' of the FAQ. I am also not able to translate this text for example: 'We only start the recovery after signing a contract'. Which is in a blurb. |

Hello, Pages and posts are always translated using the WPML Translation Editor or the WordPress Editor. You cannot and should not attempt to translate the content and titles of pages and posts directly under WPML > String Translation. Is the alpha version of Divi 5 possibly being used here? Best regards, |

Hi Andreas, No usage of Divi 5. Weird thing is, it used to always work perfectly. I can edit the description of the FAQ, not the title. Is there anything I can do about it? Also, the Blurb module, somehow I used to be able to edit it in string translation too, now, not anymore. |

Thank you for your message! WPML has removed those strings in version 4.7 from being visible at WPML > String Translation as you should never use String Translation to create those translations. String Translation only should be used for strings coming from Themes and Plugins. All Posts and Pages (title, content, custom fields, etc.) should be translated only with the WPML Translation Editor or by using the WordPress Editor. Also, all Divi Templates and Layouts should be translated only at WPML > Translation Management > Dashboard by creating a job and using automatic translation or the WPML Translation Editor and translating yourself at WPML > Translations. --- I would like to offer to take a closer look and request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate the issue further. You can find the required fields below the comments section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it. IMPORTANT I may need to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" to create a copy of the website so I can investigate the issue further. However, I would also be very grateful if you could provide a staging site or a copy of the website from your server for this purpose. If you have any questions about creating such a staging site, you can consult your hosting provider. Please note that WPML must also be registered on this staging site at https://wpml.org/account/websites/. If you are unable to provide such a copy of the website for testing, please let me know on this ticket. The private reply form looks like this: Click "I still need assistance" the next time you reply. Video: Please note that we are required to request this information individually on each ticket. We are not permitted to access any credentials that were not specifically submitted on this ticket using the private response form. |

Clearing the cache in WP Rocket solves this issue with the mentioned text. What does not seem to work is the translation of the Blurb module titles. They are not available inside the WPML Translation Editor which is kind of odd, as our remote XML config for Divi does cover the Blurb title: <shortcode> <tag>et_pb_blurb</tag> <attributes> <attribute>title</attribute> <attribute>title_phone</attribute> <attribute>title_tablet</attribute> <attribute>alt</attribute> <attribute type="media-url">image</attribute> <attribute type="media-url">background_image</attribute> <attribute type="link">link_option_url</attribute> <attribute type="link">url</attribute> <attribute encoding="allow_html_tags">content_tablet</attribute> <attribute encoding="allow_html_tags">content_phone</attribute> </attributes> </shortcode> The reason for the issue was, that someone saved the following config at WPML > Settings > Custom XML Config which was incomplete and I have removed it now: <wpml-config> <shortcodes> <shortcode> <tag>et_pb_blurb</tag> </shortcode> </shortcodes> </wpml-config> Please edit now the Blurb module on the original content, save the page, and update the translations. |
