Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate strings of the Event Calendar plugins (WP and Divi) on my site hidden link. I followed the instructions for tracking strings, visiting the website, and unchecking the track. I managed to translate 'Hide' and 'Show filters' and 'Event categories'.

Symptoms:
The Filter module on the Russian page still has English words like 'search', 'keyword', and 'reset'. In the Estonian version, the search filter shows English words and Russian words for 'Category', 'Place', and 'Price' (Категория, Место, Цена).

Questions:
Why are the words 'search', 'keyword', and 'reset' still in English in the Filter module on the Russian page?
Why does the Estonian version of the search filter show English and Russian words instead of Estonian?

I have opened the chat today, but after maybe 20 minutes it has disappeared... I followed your instructions and checked the function of tracking strings, visiting website and back to unchecking the track. I had to do it 3 times to find the required items and managed to translate Hide and Show filters, Event categories luckily.. What is left without translation is shown in screenpal video: if you open schedule - Russian page - and then to Filter module, it still has English words inside like search, keyword and reset..Then I went to backend WPML string translation, tried to find these words (ex search) filtering for event calendar, what was shown there - was already translated in both Russian and Estonian (which i need). Then I went back to the page with schedule, chose its Estonian version. And in the search filter you see not Estonian words, but remaining words in English: search, keyword and reset as well as Russian words meaning Category, Place and Price (Категория, Место, Цена in Russian). Hello,

chat was converted to a ticket since you where inactive for too long.

I have checked your issue, please try next:

1) https://wpml.org/errata/the-events-calendar-translation-issues-for-certain-strings-with-non-block-themes/

2) I see you are using the Divi Events addon, which is not on our official compatible plugins list so there could be some issue. Please try to disable this plugin and use regular The Events shortcodes to add its content to your pages; it should translate fine.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Drazen

Hello, Drzen,

I am here at the desktop al the time, working in a different window...
Sorry for the delay

Can you specify when I can find these docs, please? These: /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Views/V2/View.php file.
Look for line 1602.

Hello,

you can find them in your root folder of WordPress then WP-content folder and etc. You can use FTP, File Manager from hosting, or similar tools to access / edit the file and adjust the code.

Also please note my other statement, that the plugin you are using might not be compatible and translatable, I advise checking on this also with the addon author.

You can use the official Events Calendar shortcode and those should show and translate fine: hidden link

Drazen,

I made changes in line 1602 as you suggested and it did not help. Furthermore, I have found another a bigger problem than that which seems really disastrous...
The whole page with schedule in a translated language (Estonian) has lost its nice Divi format - there is no Feed and Filter module at all there...

Probably I ve missed the changes I have been making today all day long because of the cache..and now I am at a loss.... do not know how to make it in the same way as on Russian (default) page. Interesting that sometimes Russian page with a schedule also becomes distorted....hidden link

What shall i do???

Hello,

1) Can you please try with original shortcodes and see if that works or if possible check with plugin Divi addon if they support translation of those strings?

2) As for your 2nd issue, if it happens in the default language it might not be related to WPML, anyway, I since we limit 1 issue per ticket I would suggest opening a new chat so we can quickly check and investigate what is wrong.

Drazen
