Background of the issue:
We have translated our pages with the Advanced Translator but the words appear still in the default language - while they appear correctly translated inside the Gutenberg editor. See hidden link

Symptoms:
Translated words appear in the default language on the live site, but appear correctly translated inside the Gutenberg editor.

Questions:
Why do the translated words appear in the default language on the live site?
How can we ensure that the translations appear correctly on the live site?

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand the issue you're having. I checked the blog page and noticed that a block template/layout is being used to display the post loop. Since the button is included within the template, the text will not appear translated on the page until the template itself has been translated.

Could you please check and ensure that the template has been translated by following the instructions outlined here?

You can also go to "WPML > String translation" and make sure that the text has been translated there. From the String translation, search for the button text. If the text appears in the result, you can add the translation by clicking the "+" icon under the language flag.

Please let me know the update. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Thank you for your support.

I have translated the template but still the translation is not showing.

In the String Translation, the "read-more" appears in spanish for the English language, and the option to switch to another language is greyed out...

I have noticed that if I go to WP reading settings and remove the Blog page as the posts page, the /blog url still works and text and images appears correctly translated, but the layout is all messed up.

There must be something else going on, but I am not sure how to fix it...

Hi There,
Thank you for the update.

One of the selected strings appears to be part of a string package. To change the language, you need to select all the strings within that package. Start by selecting any one of the strings and check if you can change its language. This will help you identify which string is part of the package.

However, if the button still doesn't appear translated even after translating the template and strings, a closer inspection will be needed to determine the root cause. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please backup site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Looking forward to your response.

Thank you for your support.

Since I have not been able to find the whole package, I have tried to change the string language from English to the default correct Spanish using the "Languages of domains" option, but nothing has changed on the front site.

I have also noticed that, even though after translating the template the images appear correctly translated, the texts are not.

In the beginning of the page I have a slider that is added via shortcode. Each language has its own code. Even though I have added the shortcode for English in the editing page, the front view still shows the Spanish slider...

I am having a similar problem with simple pages too, that don't use any template.

For instance, in this page: hidden link whenever I try and localise some text or shortcode, the change is reverted when refreshing the editing page, and the texts are in the default language in any language...

Hi There,
Thank you for sharing the access information.

I have thoroughly checked but unfortunately, I am unable to identify the exact template used to display the blog posts. The nesting of templates makes it difficult to pinpoint the correct one. Additionally, when I opened the Blog page in the editor, I encountered a "View not found" error, despite everything displaying correctly on the frontend.

On the frontend, I located the Views template ID (34607). However, when I manually opened the hidden link">template in the editor, it did not display any layout for the post. Therefore, I still cannot determine the exact template that displays the post.

Can you please provide details on where the template is located? If you could share the steps on how the template is incorporated into the Blog page, it would be really helpful. I will then check accordingly and do my best to assist in finding a solution.

Looking forward to your response and appreciate your kind cooperation in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Yes, the blog template's id is 34607 and the category post template 14534.

Up until yesterday, there was no "View not found" error and the layout was visible.

I was following this steps to create those two archive pages: https://toolset.com/course-lesson/creating-a-custom-archive-page

I don't understand what is happening here...

In the meantime, you could check on the post category template, since the same issue is there: the "read more" text does not show up translated on the front end
