This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to translate a string using WPML, but when you send it to translations and open the translations dashboard, you encounter an issue where the jobs cannot be loaded, and you receive an error message.
Solution:
1. Ensure you create a backup of your website or test on a staging version to avoid disruptions.
2. Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Support > Troubleshooting. Follow the steps shown in this screenshot: https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/7206941-buttons.png
3. If the issue persists, check this video for further guidance: https://komododecks.com/recordings/aGDoz8r2SomwVmiGBuFe
4. Open Translation Management, locate the string, assign it to an available translator, and click Translate. Then, in WPML → Translations, select the job, click Take and translate, complete the work in the Advanced Translation Editor.
5. If needed, delete the problematic strings and rescan them in WPML > String translations.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a string translation using WPML. Whenever I send it to translations and open up the translations dashboard, I encounter an issue.

Symptoms:
I get an error message that the jobs cannot be loaded. Instead of seeing the translations done, no jobs are loaded.

Questions:
Why are the translation jobs not loading in the dashboard?
How can I resolve the error message about jobs not being loaded?

Hi,

Welcome to WPML support. Would you please follow the steps below?

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Support > Troubleshooting (link)".
- Click the buttons annotated in the screenshot below one by one and wait for each button process to finish:
https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/7206941-buttons.png

If the issue persists, I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.

Make sure you set the next reply as private.

Please tell me which strings you are talking about.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for your patience and sorry for the late reply.

Would you please check this video?

The WPML string in question was still queued for translation rather than published. To resolve this, open Translation Management, locate the string, assign it to an available translator, and click Translate (rather than using the general “Send” buttons). Then, in WPML → Translations, select the job, click Take and translate, complete the work in the Advanced Translation Editor, and the string will be fully translated and active.

Thanks.

Hi, thank you for this response. I have attempted this approach, and assigned the translation to myself. However, when I go to open my translations queue I do not see it as the jobs are not loading.

Hi,

Would you please tell me what ID you want to add as a translation of that string? I will add it for you

I deleted the strings and scanned again and you can add the string translations directly to WPML > String translations now.

Thanks,
