This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to register your site as a production site with WPML, but encounter an error stating 'Unable to register: Site key not matching'. You have already tried deleting the old key and adding a new one, but the issue persists.
Solution:
The issue might be due to the URL used during the registration not matching the exact URL of your site. Please ensure that you include 'www' in your site's URL if it is part of the correct address. Follow these steps:
1. Visit https://wpml.org/account/sites
2. Remove the current key.
3. Generate a new key for the exact URL, including 'www'.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If problems persist, please open a new support ticket with us for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to register this site as a production site. I had a key that was working but suddenly stopped working. I tried to re-register that key but it kept saying 'Unable to register: Site key not matching'. I tried deleting the old key and adding a new one for this site but am still getting the same error.

Symptoms:
Unable to register: Site key not matching

Questions:
Why did my site key suddenly stop working?
How can I successfully register my site with a new key?

Hi there.

I think you generated a WPML key for this domain (hidden link) but the correct URL is this: hidden link

So, the missing "www" might be the reason why you are getting that error.

Please try to go here (https://wpml.org/account/sites), remove the current key and generate a new one for the exact URL that I mentioned.

I hope that you will find this information helpful.

This worked! Thank you. I knew I needed the https:// portion but didn't realize I also needed the www.
