WordPress 6.7 has introduced a new issue that impact translations, please update WooCommerce and WPML to the latest versions before you report issues. More about this here - https://wpml.org/errata/php-error-wp-6-7-notice-function-_load_textdomain_just_in_time-was-called/
I have a site with multiple regionalized languages
/au - Australian english
/us - US english
/uk - British english
/nz - New Zealand english
This site has a glossary of terms.
How can I access this glossary programatically? is there any hook or function for it?
And can you confirm when is that new feature releasing where I can just click on a button and change all the glossary instances of the words.
Will this feature use automatic translation? because I can't use automatic translations on my site as all the site has is custom (regionalized) languages.
Thank you for contacting WPML support, I’m happy to help you with this issue.
How can I access this glossary programmatically? Is there any hook or function for it?
I'm afraid that there isn't a hook to use/access the glossary programmatically. It is saved on our server and you can see this in Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) or Translation Management > Tools tab on your site.
can you confirm when is that new feature releasing where I can just click on a button and change all the glossary instances of the words.
Yes, we are testing a new feature that supports replacing the glossary in the content that was translated in ATE but it has not been released yet.
Will this feature use automatic translation?
Intentionally, no credits will be used because we will search and replace the glossary on our server. Credits will be used only when you need to translate content from a translation engine (DeepL, Google, Microsoft). As soon as it is released, we will have documentation for this feature.
Thanks for the info, just have a few more clarifications.
This release will work with custom languages correct? (i have various languages with changed links like /uk for English UK not Ukranian)
Will this mean I can duplicate all the content so its exactly the same everywhere and then the Glossary will do a search and replace on the existing content? - want to get an idea of what I can do or not until the feature is released.
Can you point me towards the timeline of when this will be live? Our site is mostly complete and would need this feature. If it takes too long might need to do the search / replace ourselves. Even something like an early version on Git would be useful.
Sorry, I don't have much more information about the new feature. We will have documentation about it when it is released. I will update you here when I have something to share.
