Background of the issue:
I am trying to import an XML file containing multilingual content into my site hidden link using the WPML import function. The XML file was generated by the basic WordPress export tool because I cannot install the WPML export tool on the source website.

Symptoms:
I am unsure if the WPML import tool can handle the XML file generated by the basic WordPress export tool.

Questions:
Will the WPML import tool be able to handle that XML file at all?
During importing, would I be able to map values such as "language", "is translation of", "SEO Title", and "Meta description" to be imported into the new site?

Hi,

The chat was disconnected. I turned it to a ticket.

WPML Import/Export plugin is compatible with the native WordPress export tool.

Please read the details here:

https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/

I'd be happy to answer questions along the way if you have some during the import process.

FYI: Ticket response time is longer than chat.
