This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing an issue where clicking on the translations of a post named 'Campings bij een Pretpark' redirected to the post editor instead of opening the translations.

Solution:
We recommended the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting.
2. Click the buttons in the Clean Up section one by one (as shown here: https://prnt.sc/ztFTG93JovgG).
3. Edit the post in the default language and make a minor edit, such as adding a '+' sign to the title, then update it.
4. Try editing the translation again.

As there was a notification of Automatic Translation on-going showing on wp-admin top bar, we suggested:
1. Go to WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting.
2. Scroll down and click on 'Cancel in-progress Automatic translation job'.
3. Proceed to WPML -> Translation Management -> Jobs.
4. Delete any Jobs marked with an 'in progress' status.
5. Clear both the site and browser caches.

Additionally, we advised:
1. Edit the post in the default language.
2. In the 'Language' section of the right panel, set the WPML Editor (it was set to WordPress editor).
3. Update the post and then try editing one of the translations.

Switching to the WPML Editor on the post resolved the issue.

Hi Marsel,

I followed your steps, however the issue remains.

Could it be something related to the wheel that keeps spinning in top menu? It looks there's still one translation pending. (see attached image)

Hi,

It seems that the translation job that is pending (the image you shared) was created while you had activated "Translate Everything Automatically" on WPML -> Settings. I checked and as for now, you have selected "Translate What You Choose" on WPML -> Settings.

Can you please activate "Translate Everything Automatically", wait for the job to be completed, and check if the issue persists?

I have not used "Translate Everything Automatically" and I don't want to activate this options since I don't need to have all my content translated (and get billed for it)

(Are you able to remove my printscreen? Or change this to a private ticket?)

Hi,

* I've removed the screenshot you shared before.

If I understood correctly, you never used "Translate Everything Automatically"?

---

Can you please follow these steps:

1. go to WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting
2. Scroll down to find the option and click on the button labeled "Cancel in-progress Automatic translation job."
3. After completing this step, proceed to WPML -> Translation Management -> Jobs
4. In this section, locate and delete any Jobs marked with an "in progress" status.

After completing these steps, please clear both the site and browser caches.

Looking forward to your reply,
Marsel

Hi Marsel, thanks again.

> If I understood correctly, you never used "Translate Everything Automatically"?
Correct

I have followed all steps, including the 3 removal of 3 jobs that were 'in progress'. The posts with the issue was not one of them.
The issue on that specific post remains.

Thanks for the update, can you please try:

- edit the post in the default language
- on the right panel, in the "Language" section set the WPML Editor (it is set to WordPress editor). Check the attached image.
- update the post and after try editing one of the translations

Let me know if the issue persists.

Thank you, this solved the issue! Do you know how this could have happened? We didn't change any of these settings.

Happy to see that the issue is resolved.

It might have been changed by accident or if on WPML -> Settings -> Translation Editor
section, someone had set "Classic Translation Editor".

Normally there is no way that happens from a configuration or automatically from WPML.

Let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance.

Kind regards,
Marsel
