Background of the issue:
I am trying to use affiliate links on my WordPress site, hidden link, which is using WPML for multilingual support. The links work correctly on the English version of my site but not on the other language pages created with WPML.Even if I add google.com instead of my affiliate links, it gives the same error.

Symptoms:
When I click on my affiliate links on the non-English pages, such as hidden link, I get a 'page not found' warning. Additionally, a double slash appears in the URL, for example: hidden link.

Questions:
Why do my affiliate links result in a 'page not found' warning on non-English pages created with WPML?
How can I fix the issue of the double slash appearing in the URL on my non-English pages?
