This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was trying to set up a multicurrency site with euro and Serbian dinar but encountered an issue where the currency switcher was not displaying correctly on the Serbian version of the site. Instead of the switcher, a shortcode was visible. The client had already ruled out plugin conflicts by deactivating all plugins except WPML and WooCommerce.

Solution:
We accessed the client's website and deleted the translation for the "%code%" strings in the WPML String Translation, as these should not be translated because they are variables, often indicated by the % symbol. After this adjustment, the currency switcher appeared correctly on the provided page.

If you're experiencing a similar issue with the currency switcher on your multilingual site, we recommend checking the WPML String Translation for any translated variables (especially those containing the % symbol) and removing those translations. Variables should not be translated as they are placeholders for dynamic content.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. If the issue persists, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket with us.

I am trying to: Set multicurrency site which will use euro and Serbian dinar as currencies

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:hidden link

I expected to see: Currency switcher as it is on English version

Instead, I got: shortcode and not swither.

I already talked with the support and I got advise to deactivate all the plugins and only test WPML with Woocommerce. I did as advised and I still got the same issues, so I guess that there is no conflict with any other plugin.
I also dont know if the problem existed before as I had issues with displaying products pages in Serbian language. As soon as the issue with products was solved I noticed this bug with the currency symbol.

Can you please help me to solve this issue?

Best regards
Sanja

Hello Sanja,

I accessed your website and deleted the translation for the "%code%" strings, it seemed to be the same issue as last time. As a rule of thumb, it's always a good idea not to translate variables in String Translation. Variables usually include the % symbol in them.

I re-checked the example you sent, and the currencies are appearing as you wish.

Hello Lucas,

Thank you very much for helping me with this issue. At first I thought it was a problem with translation so I was searching for the string, with the help from WPML chat support. And we couldnt find the issue.
Thank you very much for your time, help and explanation.

Best regards
Sanja
