Hello

Suddenly string translation for some parts is not working. I have went back in to update the string translation and its still giving the original line instead of the translated one. Why is this happening suddenly? I havent updated wordpress or any plugins. this just randomly happened. I check other strings and they are updating and working but these strings are not working anymore and they are connected to the " ovic-addon-toolkit "

Please help

Hello,

Could you please increase your WP Memory limit to 256M? 128M is the minimum required by WPML.
Your current values are:

PHP Memory Limit 512M
WP Memory Limit 40M
Add this code to your wp-config.php to increase WP memory:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');

Paste it just before:

/ That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. /

Now, verify the current settings at WPML > Support > WordPress. Then complete the translation again.

These settings can be limited directly by your hosting provider, so I recommend you contact and ask them to modify them directly.
If you can get even higher values It would be great.

https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
Note: WPML needs a minimum WP Memory limit of 128M to work only under a minimal environment, which means, with a default theme and no other plugins installed.

Now, go to WPML > String Translation, open the translation for an affected string, make a small edit, and save the translation again.

If this will still not solve the issue, please let us know.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello Andreas, Thank you for your support. I tried and it did not work. I also tried to increase it to 512M and it didnt work. I made sure to change translation more than once and refresh and nothing would show neither PC or phone.

I havent updated any plugins in a while because updates usually cause issues. Do you think If I update the WPML String translation plugin, will it fix it?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. Yes, these types of issues usually fix after updating the theme/plugins to the latest version. So, please follow the below steps and see if this resolves your issue:

1. Please take a backup of your site first for safety reasons.

2. We have recently released WPML 4.6.10, could you please update it to the latest version.

You can update it from Plugins >> Add New plugin page, click the Commercial tab, and then click the “Check for updates” button. Here is the screenshot for more details:
https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/wpml-force-plugin-update-1.png

3. Please make sure to update all outdated plugins and theme to the latest version and see if this resolves the issue.

4. If the above steps don’t help, please try the below procedures:

4.1. Go to the WPML >> String Translation page and in the Auto register strings for translation section, enable the ‘Look for strings while pages are rendered’ option.

4.2. Re-visit the page on the front end where the string appears.

4.3. Re-visit the WPML >> String Translation page and search for that string.

4.4. Translate the string.

4.5. After translating the string, uncheck the auto-registration option.

Please let me know the results,

Thank you
