[Resolved] Again: We have problems with translations that get lost
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are experiencing issues where translations are lost after saving them at 100%. Additionally, you are unable to use the auto-translate feature or save translations subsequently. Solution: This issue might have been a temporary problem on the server where the WPML Translation Editor operates. We continuously work on improving the editor and regularly release updates to enhance its stability and performance. If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend checking for any available updates and applying them. Also, ensure that you have the latest versions of all themes and plugins installed.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, please open a new support ticket. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
My ticket from yesterday gets lost. We just got an answer from AI. After testing some advices, today the ticket was closed, and now it is gone.
We actually loose translations after 100% saving. After trying to translate again, we are not able autotranslate and also to safe the translation anymore. Please see screenshot.
So we need help by a "real" support agent.
Thank you!
Best
Michael
Could you please share a bit more detail about what’s happening? For example:
• When you click Complete, does the translation fail to save?
• Do you see the translation marked as completed in the WPML dashboard afterward?
As a quick check, please also try the following:
• Clear your browser cache
• Test the same action in a different browser to see if the behavior is the same
• When you click Complete, does the translation fail to save?

The problem started, with changing one word in the original language. Usually, in this case, just the block relating to this change disappears. But in this case, nearly 30% of the translation disappeared, or better: The german original language was in the blocks. Before that, in Admin the "pencil" was shown for 100% translation.
Starting with this issue, we are not able to safe changings. We tried to translate one block, saved the draft, and left the editor. Starting the editor again, the english translation in this block was gone, and the german came up again.
Sometimes we haven't been able to save the draft, because the button was not clickable.
AND ... the button for "Automatic translation" (flash) is also not clickable,
As a quick check, please also try the following:
• Clear your browser cache
• Test the same action in a different browser to see if the behavior is the same
We tested it on two different devices (Mac and PC) and two different Browsers (Firefox and Chrome). Clearing Browser did not solve the problem.
Do not hesitate when you need further information.
I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site—preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible—to better help. When you log in to leave your next reply, you will find the required fields below the comment area. The information you enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.
Can you please provide step-by-step guidance on how to replicate this on your site? Also, please include the link to the page so I can test it. I want to replicate the save behavior you are experiencing.
we currently do not have the problem anymore, without really knowing the root cause. My wife stopped working on this page, and went on creating and translating the other pages/posts. At the end she finally came back to the issue, and was able to translate everything properly.
So we prefer not to touch the running system ;-).
We currently have a second ticket (17748545) running, which is still not solved. Hope we will get in contact with you or a colleague soon!
Most likely, this was a temporary issue on the server where the WPML Translation Editor operates. Our development team continuously improves the editor and regularly releases updates to enhance its stability and performance.
The other support ticket is currently waiting for your response. Once you’re ready, please provide the information there so we can continue assisting you.
