This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to automatically translate articles into Arabic, but the translation process gets stuck, showing continuous spinning arrows, while translations for other languages complete successfully.
Solution:
First, ensure that Arabic is correctly mapped for automatic translation by checking the WPML > Languages > Edit Languages section. Also, verify the settings in WPML > Translation Management > Tools at the bottom section for language mapping details. If everything appears correct and the issue persists, it might be a temporary glitch or a more complex issue requiring further investigation.

If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your specific case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Additionally, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to automatically translate articles on our blogs (blog.padi.com and pros-blog.padi.com) on an as-needed basis. Today, I translated multiple articles but in all of them Arabic got 'stuck'. It has always worked previous to today. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
WPML continuously tells me the translation job is in progress for Arabic while the other languages all finish translating within a couple of minutes. It just keeps showing the spinning arrows where Arabic should be.

Questions:
Why is the Arabic translation getting stuck?
How can I resolve the issue with the Arabic translation not completing?

Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps and try to help with the issue quickly.

1. Please backup and update all WPML plugins to the latest version.

2. Navigate to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting > Click Cancel in-progress automatic jobs to cancel all pending or stuck jobs.

3. Then, navigate to Translation Management and resend that page for automatic translation again.

I hope it helps.

I've updated the plugins, canceled the in-progress jobs and resent them for translation, but the Arabic still gets "stuck".

Hello,

Please revise WPML > Language > Edit languages.

Could it be that Arabic is not mapped for automatic translation?

You can see more details for language mapping at WPML > Translation Management > Tools in the bottom section.

Best regards
Andreas

HI Andreas,

Thanks for the suggestion. Arabic is mapped for automatic translation. I've double checked the Edit Languages page and the language mapping. Everything is in order.

We have been automatically translating in Arabic for months, and WPML was automatically translating to the language as recently as Monday, Jan. 6.

Arabic started working again, so it must have been a glitch. Thanks for your help!
