Background of the issue:
I am trying to connect translations for pages in different languages. I have a page in Portuguese and another in English. I click on connect translations, select the page, and it seems to connect both pages. However, when I click save, they get disconnected, and I have to add a translation again. I also tried creating a new translation for an existing page, but when I save it, it becomes an independent page. Can you help us ASAP? Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
Pages appear to connect initially but disconnect upon saving, requiring re-adding of translations. New translations save as independent pages instead of being connected to the original.

Questions:
Why do pages disconnect after saving?
How can I ensure new translations are connected to the original page?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support!

Can you try the following:
- WPML - > Support -> Troubleshooting:
-- Clear the cache in WPML
-- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
– Assign translation status to duplicated content
-- Set language information
-- Fix terms count
-- Fix post type assignment for translations

And after this try: "I also tried creating a new translation for an existing page, but when I save it, it becomes an independent page"

Does it work then, it is still an independent page?

Regards,
Bruno Kos
