This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client reported that the translated string [mvl_search_results_settings]listing_directory_title_default was not displaying correctly on the front-end.
Solution:
We discovered that the issue was due to the child theme and plugins being disabled. After re-enabling the child theme and related plugins, the translation started working correctly. We asked the client to verify the changes by checking their site.

If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Additionally, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi, yes it came to my mind later that we disabled the child theme and plugins and that was the reason the translations were not working. Thank you so much for notifying me 🙂 let's close this, I'll open a separate one of another issue I can't solve.
