Background of the issue:
I am trying to stop the top bar menu HTML text of my Primary page, which is English, from changing to French without me doing anything. The site I need help with is hidden link.
Symptoms:
The HTML text on my Primary language top bar menu is changing from the mother language to the secondary language on its own.
Questions:
This has been a problem for me for quite a while and I am only now dealing with it. The main language of my site is English. My secondary language is French. I enter the HTML text for the top bar in English. A day or two goes by and the text changes from English to French (on my primary English Language site). How can I stop it from doing this? I have attached some screen shots of the French language on the English site, the HTML text editor and the string translations page. As of today, I am leaving the problem, as it is (text in French), to start troubleshooting at the issue, rather than changing the HTML text to English now.
Hello Norman,
This problem does not match my issue. The sample ticket states "If your user’s profile language is different from the site’s default language, visiting the WordPress Customizer causes original strings to be replaced by their translations. This occurs with admin strings registered in WPML > String Translation."
My user profile is in English and the sites default language is English too. My problem is that the secondary language (French) is replacing the primary language (English) in ONLY the HTML of the top bar menu (Flatsome theme). This occurs in no other strings on the website.
I look forward to my ticket being assigned.
Thank you,
Bonnie
Further, To debug this issue further, I would need to check your site settings once, for this I would need temporary access (wp-admin and ftp) to your site.
So could you please provide me with those details, you will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. hidden link
ATTENTION SHEKAR!!! My Internet provider is having trouble with the fiber optic cables in my area and I have not had a desktop connection for two days. I need more time to get you all the information you have requested, as I can not easily obtain it by using my phone. Please do not close this ticket.
Thank you,
Bonnie
Hello Shekhar,
I was going through the ton of information that I need to give you in the private form. I started to do the plugins and found that this plugin from go systems is not activated:
Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual Version 2.1.4.2
I read its description and thought that maybe activating it might be the solution to my problem. Before activating the plugin, I wanted to get your advice and opinion, whether I should activate the plugin and if it could be a possible solution.
Thank you,
Bonnie
Greetings Shekar,
I activated the plugin this morning and cleared all caches. Then I corrected the text and did the string translation. Every thing looks fine now, but that is normal for this problem, as it switches to the wrong text over time.
I saw mentioned in a a support question for another person, that had a similar problem, that the person noted that the string malfunctioned when he made other changes on the site. I am going to work on the site in the next week by adding products and updating translations. Please keep this ticket open for another week, to see if the problem is truly resolved or not.
Thank you and have a good day,
Bonnie
