This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You translated a post to Dutch and completed the translation, but the post did not publish automatically. Additionally, you encountered an error message stating 'WPML tried to translate this page three times and failed' when trying to open the translation.
Solution:
We recommend following these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Navigate to WPML → Translation dashboard → Jobs and delete the existing jobs.
2. Go to WPML → Support → Troubleshooting and click on “Synchronize local job IDs with ATE jobs”.
3. After completing these steps, you can proceed with the translation again.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I translated my post to Dutch and completed the translation, but the post did not publish automatically. I tried making changes and saving again, and also switched to the old editor, but neither worked. Now, when I try to open the translation via WordPress, I get an error message. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
The post did not get published at all, and the Dutch version was nowhere to be found even though the translation was completed. I now receive an error message: 'WPML tried to translate this page three times and failed. To get it fixed, contact WPML support.'

Questions:
Why did the translated post not publish automatically?
How can I resolve the error message when trying to open the translator?

Still the translation is not getting published when translation is at 100% and I press save. I tried another post translation and that DOES work..

Hi there,

Yesterday we experienced an issue related to the one that our developers have already fixed.

To complete the fix, please follow these steps:
1. Go to WPML → Translation dashboard → Jobs and delete the existing jobs.
2. Go to WPML → Support → Troubleshooting and click on “Synchronize local job IDs with ATE jobs”.
3. After that, you can proceed with the translation again.

Please let me know if you have any problem.
