Hello,
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue.
It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.
The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I'll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site.
This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content.
Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site.
**IMPORTANT**
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields.
Hello Otto, thank you for the help. Did you make the change to the widget title in its original language - correct?
Now, I would like to translate the logo hidden link you can find in hidden link but the State is Registered and locked. Can you help please?
Also, again, thanks for helping me fix this little issue, but I would like to fix it at the core: String Translation lists a lot of backend/useless strings, and not the frontend ones (I manage many more websites and I never had this problem). Is there any way to reset to default what is listed in the String Translation database? As I already said, it worked as expected in the past and I changed pretty much nothing on the website.
Thanks again!
New threads created by Otto and linked to this one are listed below:
No, WPML does not have a feature to "purge" the string translations table. But having old strings should not affect the site's performance nor generate issues with the translation of newly added strings.
If you can provide me an example of another string that you can't translate, I can take a look.
If you haven't done it yet, you can try this:
- Go to WPML → String Translation.
- Enable Auto register strings for translation → Look for strings while pages are rendered.
- Visit the exact frontend page where the string should appear.
- Go back to String Translation, find the newly registered string, translate it.
- Disable Look for strings while pages are rendered (keep it off for performance once done).
For the logo image translation issue, I created a new ticket. Our experience says that it's better to handle one issue per ticket.
