This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where English and Japanese posts/pages appear together in every filter view on their website. Despite selecting a specific language filter, items from both languages are displayed, which should not happen. This issue persists even after attempting to reset WPML and clearing the cache.

Solution:
We initially guided the client to check and reconfigure the WPML Language Switcher widget in Elementor for posts and pages, and to verify the translation status and update translations for relevant content. Additionally, we suggested running 'Set language information' and 'Clear the cache in WPML' from WPML->Support->Troubleshooting. However, these steps did not resolve the issue.

Upon further investigation, we identified that the issue was caused by the PeepSo plugin by PeepSo Inc., which is not compatible with WPML. Deactivating the PeepSo plugin resolved the language filter issue, confirming that it does not support multiple languages and is incompatible with WPML as stated on their community page: PeepSo Community Page.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML Support Forum.

English and Japanese posts/pages appear together in every filter view

When I click English, I still see Japanese items

When I click Japanese, I still see English items

All languages = 2 items, but both items show even when filtering

No matter what filter I choose, the result is always the same

This happens for Pages and Posts.

Example (Posts):

English (1)

Japanese (1)

All languages (2)
➡️ But both items always show in all filters.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Hello,

I am still working on this and will update you shortly.

Running standard Troubleshooting actions does not resolve the issue and we are doing deeper debugging.

Hello,

The issue is with the plugin PeepSo by PeepSo inc.

Once the main plugin is deactivated the languages are working as expected.

This plugin is not listed as compatible with WPML by our team, and also based on a statement by their team it looks like it does not support multiple language and is not compatible with WPML.

"Please bear in mind PeepSo is not compatible with multilingual (WPML) plugins and supports only a single language."
