Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and experiencing an issue with losing translations when updating the base language page. Thanks -- I tested it on the dev site (seems to work!), but only for the specific situation you addressed. I'll need more time to test it on the live site (too much other stuff to do), but you can close this ticket for now, if it's easier for you. Thanks for all your help!
