[Waiting for user feedback] Translation Tools tab is not showing
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Our wait time is higher than usual, please make sure you are meeting the minimum requirement - https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements before you report issues, and if you can take a look at current Known Issues - https://wpml.org/known-issues/. Thank you.
Background of the issue:
I am trying to follow recommendations to correct an error in WPML after restoring a backup. I need to know what changes were made by Waqas Bin Hasan during our chat session. I am unable to repeat the steps due to missing information.
Symptoms:
I cannot restore or write to the chat after Waqas Bin Hasan closed it. I am unable to follow the recommendations due to missing information.
Questions:
What changes were made by Waqas Bin Hasan during our chat session?
Why couldn't I restore or write to the chat after it was closed?
While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.
You should get chat transcript to your email, as I can see issue was with the translation engines not showing correctly. This is what my colleague did:
Somehow the DB entry for Translation Engines was corrupted. That there were no translation engines shown in WPML -> Settings.
So I did the following:
- Go to WPML -> Translation Management -> Translation Tools -> Translation Engines.
- Enabled/disabled these.
- This made engines available in WPML Settings.
- As well as the language mapping.
Reference to our previous chat and as my colleague mentioned about the work done, that was all which I did.
However, I need to take a closer look at your site. So I request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP), preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your next answer will be private, to share this information safely.
Also provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue and links to pages in the admin and on the frontend.
IMPORTANT: Please take a complete backup of the site to avoid data loss. I may need to activate/deactivate plugins also.
