This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client received an email stating that translations for their site were paused and additional credits needed to be purchased, despite manually entering translations and having automatic translation turned off. The client was unsure why the email was received and how to check credit usage or ensure manual translation settings were enforced.
Solution:
We recommended the client to check the WPML Translation Dashboard by navigating to WPML → Translation Dashboard in their WordPress admin area to look for any notices about paused translations and review credit usage. It was discovered that there were two entries for the client's URL, one of which was missing credits. We resolved the issue by merging these two entries, which should rectify the erroneous notification about needing more credits.

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi,

I’m a bit lost in how the Advanced Translation Manager works.
We received an email stating that translations are paused and that additional credits need to be purchased. However, as far as I know, in this case the English language content is translated manually by the user and pasted into the fields via the Advanced Editor. The automatic translation option is turned off.

Based on your message, I’m also unable to determine where any free credits may have been used. Therefore, I cannot verify whether any translation credits were actually consumed.
How can I check this?

Additionally, how can we ensure that if a client does not want to use translation options and prefers to enter translations manually, nothing is accidentally translated via the AI translation option?

Kind regards,

Sander

Hi Sander,

Please share with me the URL of the site, that way I can review our ledgers and see where the credits were used.

You can also do this as well from your side by going to WPML->Translation Dashboard->Payments & Maintenance and from within that tab get a copy of where the credits were used.

To prevent using credits for translations by accident follow the 2 steps below:

1. Go to WPML->Settings -> Automatic translation -> Do you want WPML to automatically translate all content when the Translation Editor opens?

make sure that it's set to "No, wait for me to start the translation".

2. Go to WPML->Translation Dashboard->Translate Everything Automatically make sure it's set to "OFF"

Let me know your results.

Hi Bobby,

Thank you for getting back on this. For a strange reason I've not received a notification after you posted your reply, so for this reason I'm replying later than usual.

Anyway, as far as I can see everything seems to be set up as it should be.
In WPML portal I see that nolimtsartcastle.nl still has the 2000 credits.

So the question is, why do I receive this mail?

Please try now.

I found 2 entries for this URL and one of the entries was missing credits.

This could be the reason you are getting this message.

I have now merged the 2 together.
