Background of the issue:
I am trying to create translations for real estate listings using the WPResidence theme and have the images, especially gallery images, copied automatically to the translated version, as configured in WPML settings. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
I expected the translated listings to have the same set of gallery images as the original listings, with only one featured image appearing. Instead, I am experiencing inconsistent behavior: sometimes only the featured image is copied, and the gallery images are missing in the translation. In some cases, like French, trying to fix it by updating the translation results in duplicated featured images.
Questions:
Why are the gallery images not being copied automatically to the translated listings?
Why does updating the translation sometimes result in duplicated featured images?
I modified a part of one of the listings and it worked — the images were copied, but the featured image was duplicated. However, after I cleared the site's cache, the images were deleted again and only the featured image remained.
Could it be that Speed Optimizer by SiteGround isn't compatible with WPML?
Thank you for the updates. This requires further checking. Please create a test product with featured & gallery images, and duplicate it to the Spanish language. Then, clear all types of caches and make sure the bug exists with the test product.
It would be great if you could consider a staging/dev site (clone copy of the live site) on the same server. So we can troubleshoot the bug without affecting the live site.
