Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and trying to make slugs for taxonomy terms the same as in the default language. I attempted to change the term slug to remove the language suffix. I used quick edit

Symptoms:
I am unable to change the term slug to remove the language suffix.

Questions:
How can I make slugs for taxonomy terms the same as in the default language?
How do I remove the language suffix from term slugs?

I see that for some language it is working and for other no.

For how many languages doesn´t work. Could you please check if there is a term from another post type that has the same slug on that languge?

the thing is that where the slug is correct - it was done a long time ago. And then they added new languages and now editing the slug via quick edit doesn't work for them.

There are no other taxonomy terms with such a slug.

I can't change the slug for languages that didn't have a translation before

Could you please try to deactivate all the plugins and leave only the WPML ones?
Then please let me knoe if you can save the slug. You can do that with the plugin Check conflicts.

If the problem disappears please activate 1 by 1 the plugins to see where is the conflict.

Please check on the database is there any term of the same language with the same slug.

I checked the database. There are no duplicates for the slug. That is, the slug is the same, but it is for different languages.
