Why do I have to use the AI translation? I'm curious why I need to provide details about my website name, description, what it's about, and who the target audience is. Why can't I skip these questions when setting up WPML for the first time? I always translate my websites manually and never use AI services. Why is it mandatory for us to do this?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. You don’t have to use AI translation if you prefer translating everything manually.

Those questions are part of the initial setup wizard and are mainly used to configure the automatic translation service. At the moment, this step cannot be skipped.

If you’re not planning to use AI translation, you can enter simple placeholder details just to complete the setup.

If you’d like, I can also forward your feedback to our team as a feature request to make this step optional.
