[Resolved] Remove HTML external links form translated page
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to remove external URL links completely from some translations on your site using the advanced translator in WPML, but the feature to remove these links is missing. Solution: Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove the markers for the links directly from the translation editor. We recommend editing the translated page or post using the WordPress editor and manually removing the links. Additionally, please share your Debug information with us to help us understand how your site is configured. You can find a detailed explanation on how to provide this information here.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to remove external URL links completely from some translations on my site hidden link using the advanced translator in WPML.
Symptoms:
The advanced translator is missing a feature that removes external URL links completely.
Questions:
How can I remove external URL links completely from translations using WPML?
One of my colleagues will be addressing your ticket. In the meantime, I would like to provide some helpful information.
There is no feature to remove links directly in the editor; the advanced translation editor is designed to translate the links. I suspect that if you remove the links from the original page, they will not appear in the editor.
If this is not what you meant, please elaborate more so we can better understand the request.
"if you remove the links from the original page, they will not appear in the editor."
yes they will not, but thats not the case.
I need to keep them on the original page, only remove them from the translation.
It's a tiny change on the page, but it's repeated on X Y subpages. Therefore, I don't want to end up having to edit these pages as if they have completely different content. I just need to remove the HTML link from the text.
I'm Osama from WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.
1) I'm afraid it's not possible to remove the markers for the links from the translation editor. The workaround for this case is to edit the translated page/post using the WordPress editor and remove the links.
2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me much information about how your site is configured.
Can't you add this feature to the editor?
There are dozens of sub-pages that have this link. We chose your plugin precisely because of its simplicity. We wanted to avoid duplication of pages. This link appears on almost every subpage (it links to CZ eshop so there is no point to having it on EN version of the site).
If I understand correctly, the links in the editor can be edited, or does it only apply to internal links and not external ones? If they can be edited, why is there no option to remove them?
The workaround is to edit the translated pages using the WordPress editor to remove the links.
