This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to translate a product archive template from Danish to German using WPML and Elementor, but face issues where the translations are saved in the editor, yet the interface still shows a plus sign, indicating the translation is not saved or accessible. Solution: 1. Ensure you back up your site for safety. 2. Navigate to WPML >> Support >> Troubleshooting page and execute the following actions: - Clear the cache in WPML - Synchronize posts taxonomies - Remove ghost entries from the translation tables - Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs - Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE - Assign translation status to duplicated content - Fix post type assignment for translations - Set language information 3. Check and empty the Elementor template's trash in the secondary language. 4. Make a temporary change in the title of the default language archive template, update it, revert the change, and update again. Then, open the translated template, ensure it’s 100% complete, and click Save & Close. 5. Clear all types of cache (site/server/CDN) to see if the issue resolves.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a product archive template from Danish to German. This process has worked in the past, but I am currently facing issues. All the archives are already translated to English from Danish.
Symptoms:
When I attempt to translate the product archive template to German, the translations are saved in the editor, but the interface still shows a plus sign, and I cannot access the German version, as it seems unable to save the actual translation. It indicates that the translation is not there or has been deleted.
Questions:
Why can't I access the German version of the product archive template?
Why doesn't it save the german version?
Why does the interface still show a plus sign even after saving the translations?
Thank you for contacting WPML Support. Could you please try to follow the below steps and see if this resolves the issue:

3. Make sure the Elementor template's trash is empty in the secondary language as you can see in the attached screenshot.

Ok, so it seems that after using the functionality in troubleshooting, it can now successfully save. However, when I try to access any of the sites, it shows a 404 error and I cannot figure out why. The link seems correct, but it doesn't show anything.
However, when I go to the table view of the templates, change the language and then press the view button, it does show that eveyrhting is translated with the mock-version (sample data) of the template, it just doesn't seem to work properly when natively going to the archive (with the real data on the live site)
I have also checked in elementor theme builder that all the categories are set up correctly so that it should use the right template for the right page, even in german.
I would love to give you a link, but I currently only have set it up so that logged in users can view the german language, but I have some screenshots.
Can your help me with this?
