This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue with the WPML plugin where it fails to redirect to the Dutch version of the site when the browser's default language is set to Dutch. Instead, it redirects to the English version.
Solution:
We have verified that the redirection functionality is working as expected, but it is important to note that this redirection will only occur once every 24 hours. The website uses a default directory which causes the initial redirection to .com/en/ before redirecting to the Dutch version at .com/nl/. For a visual understanding, you can view this process in a video we provided: https://we.tl/t-HPUXHmTc22.

If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to use the WPML plugin to redirect visitors based on their browser language only if translations exist. This works correctly when the default browser language is French, redirecting to hidden link. However, when the default language is Dutch, it redirects incorrectly.

Symptoms:
When the default language of the browser is Dutch, I expect the browser to get redirected to hidden link, but instead, it redirects to hidden link.

Questions:
Why is the browser not redirecting to the Dutch version of the site when the default language is Dutch?
How can I ensure that the browser redirects to the correct language version based on the browser's default language?

Hello,

I checked and it works fine, just note it will happen once in 24h, not all the time.

So, you have a website that is using the default directory, so it redirects from .com to .com/en/ and then to nl.

Video: hidden link
