This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
You are trying to translate a template into Romanian but encounter an error where the expected translation does not appear, and instead, an error symbol shows up, which changes back to a plus sign after refreshing.
Solution:
We recommend following these troubleshooting steps:
1. Navigate to WPML → Support in your WordPress dashboard.
2. Click the 'Troubleshooting' link located below the list of plugin versions.
3. In the 'Clean up' section, perform these actions one by one:
• Click 'Clear the cache in WPML'.
• Click 'Remove ghost entries from the translation tables'.
• Click 'Fix element_type collation'.
• Click 'Synchronize local job IDs with ATE jobs'.
• Click 'Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE'.
• Click 'Set language information'.
• Click 'Fix post type assignment for translations'.
Please ensure to backup your database before making any changes. If the issue persists or the solution seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
