Background of the issue:
I am experiencing issues with product images and translations on my webshop using WPML. The site URL is hidden link.

Symptoms:
Product images update correctly on the original page but not on the translated French and Dutch pages. Additionally, the product 'Select Numero 10 V22' shows incorrect translations that match another product, 'Select Voetbaltas'.

Questions:
Could the issue with product images not updating on translated pages be due to backend strings or linked URLs, or can a WPML developer resolve this?
Can you investigate why the product 'Select Numero 10 V22' shows incorrect translations that match the content of 'Select Voetbaltas'?

Hi There,
Thanks for reaching out to WPML Support.

For some reason, the chat conversation isn't loading, so I'm not sure what steps have been taken so far. Let's start the conversation from the beginning.

However, I understand the issue you're facing. To investigate, I checked the products within the "linemarking" category and found that both the default and translated products are displaying the images correctly. I didn't notice any incorrect images. You can see this in the screenshot: hidden link.

Additionally, I reviewed the English version of "Select Numero 10 V22" and noticed that the details in the English version are correctly translated from the default product. I didn't find any incorrect details in the translated version either. Please refer to this screenshot: hidden link.

If you're still experiencing issues with the product image or any specific product, could you please provide more details on how I can replicate the problem? Sharing screenshots or a video about the issue and including it in your next response would be extremely helpful in understanding and investigating the issue further.

Please let me know the update. I will be more than happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi WPML Support team,

Thanks for your response. I’ve reviewed your findings, and here are some clarifications:
1. Product Image Display Issues:
• Default Language Product:
hidden link
Images change correctly with color selection.
• Translated Language Product:
hidden link
Images do not update when changing the color option.
Please double-check this issue.

2. Translation of Product Details:
• Example Product:
hidden link
No text in "Meer Info" in the default language, but incorrect text is shown in the translated versions:
hidden link
&
hidden link

This needs further investigation.

3. Translation Issues on Checkout Pages:
• Checkout Page:
hidden link
Some fields are not translated, despite being marked as translated in WPML.

Please confirm if this could be a conflict with the Flexible Checkout Fields plugin.

Hello There,
Thank you for your detailed response.

1) Variation Image Issue in Translation: The variation images may not be synchronized correctly, which could be causing the variation image display issues in translations. Please follow these steps to see if they resolve the problem:

- Navigate to WooCommerce > WooCommerce Multilingual > Attributes tab.
- Select the Attribute from which the variations were created.
- At the bottom of the page, there is a button labeled "Synchronize Attributes." Click on this button and wait for the synchronization to complete.
- Then, go to "WooCommerce > WooCommerce Multilingual > Status" tab and click on the "Troubleshooting" link at the bottom.
- Select the options marked in this hidden link">screenshot and then click on "Start".
- Once the process is completed, clear the caches from your site and browser and then check the translated product again.

2) Incorrect Text in Translated Version: It's possible that details in the translated product were added manually. Could you please try the following steps to see if the issue persists?

- Open the default product in the Editor.
- Make a minor change to the title and save these changes.
- Then, update the product translation using the WPML Translation Editor.

This process should ensure that the translated product only contains information from the default product, and any extra information should be removed.

3) Some Fields on the Checkout Page Not Translated: I noticed that a particular field label on the Checkout page is not translated. To translate such static text, you should use the String Translation feature. Please navigate to "WPML > String Translation" and search for the text that isn't showing correctly on the translated Checkout page. If it appears in the search results, add the translation by clicking the "+" icon.

I hope the steps above will help to solve the issue. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance or clarification with any steps. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello Prosenjit,

Thank you for your detailed instructions. However, we are still facing some critical issues that need immediate attention:

Variation Image Issue:
Despite following all the steps provided, the variation image issue in translations remains unresolved. We urgently need your team to review this with your expertise. If necessary, we can provide credentials for further investigation.

Checkout Page Issues:
The issues with the incorrect text on the translated checkout page and the custom fields have been resolved—thank you.
However, we have three additional concerns:

Transport Option "Afhalen" Not Translated: The label "Afhalen" for the transport option is not being translated on the checkout page. Please check this urgently: hidden link

Custom Text in "AgreeMe Checkboxes" Not Translated: We have custom text added via the "AgreeMe Checkboxes For WooCommerce by YAdmin" plugin, which isn't translating. Is WPML compatible with this? Please advise on how to resolve this (not possible via stringtranslation): hidden link

Plugin Compatibility with WPML: The "Addify - Advanced Product Quantity" plugin is only active on the Dutch version of the website and not on other languages. We need a solution for this. Is WPML compatible? Please check: hidden link

These issues are delaying our project, and we need them resolved promptly. Please provide us with solutions or confirm if there are compatibility issues with WPML.

Hello There,
Thank you for the detailed update.

Variation Image Issue: Since the issue with the variation image persists even after following the previous steps, please try synchronizing through WPML. To do this, go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting and perform the following actions:

- Clear the cache in WPML
- Synchronize posts taxonomies (select 'product' and 'Variation')
- Assign translation status to duplicated content
- Set language information

Additionally, you can try duplicating the images to translation by following the steps below.

- Go to WPML > Settings and scroll to the Media Translation.
- Select the options marked in this screenshot(hidden link) and click on "Start"
- Once done, clear the caches from your site and browser, and then check again.

Transport Option and Checkbox Not Translatable: It’s possible that the texts haven’t been registered for translation yet, which is why they aren’t showing up as translated. Please follow these steps:

1. Go to WPML > Theme and Plugins Localization.
2. Select the plugins that the transport option and checkbox contents belong to.
3. At the bottom of the plugin section, you'll see a Scan button. Click on it and wait for the scan to complete.
4. Once done, go to WPML > String Translation and search for the text.
5. If the text appears in the results, add the translation by clicking on the "+" icon.

However, if you don’t see the texts in the list, please try the steps mentioned in this link: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/#translate-admin-and-settings-strings

I hope the steps above will help to translate the strings effectively.

Plugin Compatibility with WPML: Please note that the plugin "Addify - Advanced Product Quantity" is not listed in WPML's compatible plugin directory, so we can't guarantee whether its compatibility with WPML has been tested. However, I noticed that the plugin settings are stored in a custom field. If you want to replicate the same feature in translations, setting the translation preference for the field that stores these settings to "copy" should help. From the debug info, I was able to trace some fields. Please try the following steps.

- Go to WPML > Settings and scroll to Custom field translation
- Click on Show custom fields.
- In the search box within Custom Field Translation, enter _afadv
- If you see any result starts with _afadv, set the translation preference for all these fields to "Copy"
- Save the changes.
- Open the default product and make a small update in the title.
- Save the changes and update the translation.

If the field starting with "_afadv" is storing the quantity field settings and data, then those settings should be copied to the translation. If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to the plugin's support team to confirm which specific field stores the data. By setting the translation preference of that field to "copy," the data and settings should be correctly applied to the translated product.

I hope I've been able to clarify things for you. To ensure clarity in our communication, we are allowed to address one issue per topic. Let's keep our discussion focused on the specific issues mentioned in this ticket. For any other issues not covered here, please create a new ticket, and we'll be happy to assist with those as well.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
