Giulio

Background of the issue:
I’m trying to translate using WPML AI and I’ve noticed an issue with bold text formatting.

Symptoms:
When I use the tag for bold, sometimes the article before the word is attached without a space.

Original example: la pasta
How it comes out: thepasta

This issue happens very rarely, but unfortunately it does happen — which makes a painstaking and tedious manual check absolutely necessary.

Questions:
Why sometimes does the automatic translation remove the spaces before the bold text?
How can I fix the missing space issue with WPML AI?

Hello Giulio,

I apologize for the delay in responding. I will handle this ticket; the reply time will be shorter now.

To ensure the quickest and most accurate support, please provide your debug information so I can look at some of your configurations. We have an excellent article on how to locate it here: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/.

How is the content inserted? I mean, is the string "la pasta" in the post content? Or in a custom field? Do you use standard WP or a page builder to create it?

Please elaborate a bit on how the original content was created, and I'll try to reproduce the issue on my end. If you have other examples, it will be helpful, too. Thanks!

Best Regards,
Otto

The issue specifically occurred with some translations of the main product descriptions. I just wanted to point it out—I imagine there’s no solution on your end and that it likely stems from ChatGPT.

Unfortunately, I’ve come across similar issues now and then with ChatGPT or other AI translation systems, so I suspect it’s a fundamental limitation that could potentially be addressed with an extra rule during the translation process.

Alright, I’ll close the task as I assume there’s not much you can do to help with this particular problem.

Hi Giulio,

Thanks for taking the time to report this.

I'll give it another try to reproduce it and check with our dev team to see if there is something we can improve on our end.

I am closing the ticket. If you need anything else, please create a new one.

Best Regards,
Otto
