on hidden link i'm trying to translate the content on the top of the page. I used to do this using the WPML translation editor (WP Admin -> WPML -> Translations), to be sure layout is synced from the main english page to the translated pages, and only the texts are changed.
Recently that no longer works. Any edits made from that WPML page, won't reflect on the frontend.
Secondly, some pages show raw content somewhere on the page; this content is not present on the original language. In this example, scroll down to see the raw shortcodes output, that isn't there on the original page.
It looks like somethings changed on how the Theme.co Pro theme incorporates with WPML. Is that correct? How can I best proceed from here, to make translating pages working and easy again, has it has been for years?
I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Sorry, the credentials you provided are not working as I'm getting "Error: The password you entered for the username wpml_support is incorrect. ". Could you check?
Sorry, it looks like your Website is too slow for me to perform a thorough troubleshooting.
I regret any inconvenience caused, but to proceed with troubleshooting, I kindly ask for a snapshot of the site. Alternatively, with your permission, I can create one myself. For this purpose, I typically recommend using the free plugin "Duplicator." If you're already familiar with Duplicator (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/), please skip the following steps and simply send me the archive file you downloaded.
To guide you further, please adhere to these instructions:
1. View the Duplicator instructions video: hidden link
3. If the archive file exceeds 400MB, please use Duplicator's file filters to exclude cache, wp-uploads directory, media, and archive files.
Once you have the archive file ready, kindly share the link with us. You can utilize platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar for file sharing, as the snapshot file might be large.
Please note that your next reply will be private, visible only to you and me. You can paste the file link there. Rest assured that once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local site.
I've obtained a copy of the site and will delve into this further on my local development environment. I'll return to you with updates as soon as possible.
Upon review, it appears that the "Classic Custom Headline" widgets cannot be translated. I will escalate this to our 2nd Tier Support for further investigation on your behalf.
Thanks for escalating this. The 'Classic custom headline' has been translated for years, using the String Translation.
But that's just one of the two problems. Please also escalated the second part of my question: "Secondly, some pages show raw content somewhere on the page; this content is not present on the original language. In this example, scroll down to see the raw shortcodes output, that isn't there on the original page.".
When can I expect a final solution? We seen Google Ranking dropping, and that's costing us serious money.
Our 2nd Tier Support has provided feedback, and I've been tasked with reproducing this issue on our sandbox site. I've already set up a sandbox site here: hidden link , but I'm encountering difficulty adding "Classic Custom Headline" widgets on this test page: hidden link . Could you please review and attempt to replicate the issue on your end? This will enable me to provide an update to our 2nd Tier Support.
U just made time to dive into this, but unfortunately I can't login at the sandbox. Tried my original credentials, and requested a new password, but according to the WP Login page, there's no account for my e-mailadress.
I'm not home now so I'll test it later, but it seems like classic elements aren't enabled.
From the Docs (hidden link):
To turn ON or Off the Classic Elements, you need to enable or disable the option from Cornerstone > Settings > Permission > Administrator > Elements and click into the Configure link beside it.
I've just been able to login to the sandbox, and it does not look to be a copy of my live website at all, and so the problems im experiencing, are not reproducible.
How are we going to solve my original issues with this sandbox, that does not contain a copy of my website?
- Any edits made from that WPML page, won't reflect on the frontend.
- some pages show raw content somewhere on the page; this content is not present on the original language.
I'm able to enable the classic elements from Cornerstone page builder and replicate the issue here hidden link . You can see the missing translation when you switch language using the language switcher at the bottom.
Please allow me to share this example with our 2nd Tier Support so that they can check on it. I will come back to you once I've received feedback.
To be honest I'm getting a bit frustrated here. You are replicating one small part of my issue, but not responding to the other issues I'd described twice now. While you're escalating that custom headline part to 2nd tier support, please look into the other issues as well. We are loosing serious money because Google is picking up on the missing translations and the weird raw shortcodes that are being shown, and our ranking is dropping.
Please look into that ASAP and provide some feedback how we can fix at least that, hoping business will return to normal!
