Background of the issue:
I am encountering some issues with WPML functionality on the backend of my WordPress website, specifically regarding WooCommerce product translations and Elementor headers. The site is currently in development and can be accessed via the following link: hidden link

Symptoms:
When accessing product translations, WPML redirects us to the individual product details instead of the usual product translation overview template. The Elementor header has been translated into French and English, but only the French version is displayed correctly. The English translation does not appear as expected.

Questions:
Could you please investigate the issues with WooCommerce product translations redirecting incorrectly?
Why is the English translation of the Elementor header not appearing as expected?

Background of the Issue:
I am encountering issues with WPML functionality on the backend of my WordPress website, specifically related to WooCommerce product translations and Elementor headers. The site is currently in development and can be accessed via the following link: hidden link.

Symptoms:
1. When attempting to access product translations, WPML redirects to the individual product details instead of the usual product translation overview template.

2. The Elementor header has been translated into both French and English. However, only the French version displays correctly, while the English translation does not appear at all.

3. WPML appears to have small bugs related to translations. For example, fields like "Excl. BTW" are correctly translated to English and French within the WPML translation system, but the live product page displays "Excl. TVA" instead of the correct "Hors TVA" in French. These types of inconsistencies create confusion and impact the site's accuracy.

Additional Context:
Our Senior Developer has noted that the standard WPML translation interface (the one providing translations on a per-text/phrase basis without layout) might be unavailable for products because of how the translations were re-linked. Specifically, the FR and EN versions of the products were manually saved and linked to the NL version. While this approach seems sufficient for basic functionality, it might not be enough to enable the "translate by phrase" interface. (check database?)

It’s also possible that this translation data could still be restored from an earlier backup if necessary, as it might reside in another database table. However, we’re hoping WPML has a way to automate this process based on the current status.

Questions:
- Could you investigate the issue with WooCommerce product translations redirecting incorrectly?

- Why is the English translation of the Elementor header not appearing as expected?
Is there a way to re-enable the standard WPML translation interface for products using the current data setup, or would restoring data from a backup be required?

- Could you look into the issue with translation inconsistencies such as the "Excl. TVA" field displaying incorrect text, despite being translated correctly in the WPML system?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello,

thanks for contacting us. Please note we limit 1 issue per ticket to keep things clear and easier to follow.

I will check your first issue: "When attempting to access product translations, WPML redirects to the individual product details instead of the usual product translation overview template."

Can you please explain how can we see the issue and what goes wrong?

You can later open new tickets for your other problems, or start a new chat and we will be glad to help.

Regards,
Drazen

Hi,

1s it seems that the first issue that you mentioned is fixed (needs to be check for sure).
I would like to focus on the bugs we find out with WPML.

1. Header Template Translation Issue
- The header template (Header_v2) has been correctly translated into French and English.
- In the French version, the translation displays correctly on the front-end.
- However, in the English version, the translated header is not visible on the front-end despite being properly configured in WPML. (it stays dutch?)
- Additionally, other Elementor templates also fail to display correctly across different languages. (any idea?)

2. When attempting to translate product category names, the following behavior is observed:
- Translations can be entered into the designated fields.
- After clicking the Save button, the changes are not saved, and the entered translations disappear.
- This gives the impression that product categories may not be fully translatable, even though translation fields are available.

lease investigate the following:
- Why the translated (like; English header template in Elementor) is not displaying on the front-end, while the French template works fine.
- Why product category translations are not saving and disappearing after submission.

Hi,

Thank you for addressing this support issue and splitting it into separate tickets.

In this ticket, I’d like to focus specifically on Issue 1, which is nearly resolved but still presents a specific bug.

Additionally, I discuss the Elementor template translation issue f, which is being addressed in the other ticket.

Category and Attribute Translation Bug (Primary Issue for This Ticket)
- For the category labeled 'vaste doelen', the translation does not save despite clicking the “Save” button.

- Similarly, for the attribute 'wit', entering the translation and clicking “Save” results in the text disappearing, and nothing is saved.

In WooCommerce > Multilingual > Category (& Attributes)

Could you please investigate and provide guidance on the following:
- Why translations for specific categories and attributes (like ‘vaste doelen’ and ‘wit’) fail to save and how this can be resolved?
- If there are any known compatibility issues or required updates/settings adjustments to resolve this?

I’ve attached screenshots for your reference to better illustrate the affected fields.
