If you’re building1 and distributing2 themes and plugins under a GPL license3, we want to make it easy for you to maintain compatibility with WPML.
In fact, we’ll do everything we can to help you build themes and plugins that play perfectly in multilingual sites.
Creating multilingual-ready themes and plugins is pretty simple. All you need to do is use the standard WordPress API for everything. WPML hooks to the WordPress API calls and turns them multilingual.
Contact us, tell us what you’re building and where we can find it and we’ll issue you a subscription to WPML.
WPML subscriptions include downloads and premium access to support resources. When you have any question or want to consult on best practices, start a new thread in our members-only forum and we’ll get back to you right away.
1 We want to know that we’re working with the original author.
2 Your work must be available to the public and not only “work for hire”. This includes both commercial and free themes and plugins.
3 We only work with open-source projects that abide to the GPL license. This makes it easy for everyone to share code and ideas.
