Background of the issue:
I am trying to display images on a translated page using WPML. The original page is in English, and the translated page is in Italian. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link
Symptoms:
The images on the original page are not displayed on the translated page. I expected to see working images, but instead, I got not working images.
Questions:
Why are the images not displaying on the translated page?
How can I fix the issue of missing images on the translated page?
Welcome to WPML support. I will answer this ticket before the ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues.
Would you please follow the steps below?
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Settings > Media Translation".
- Make sure that all the enabled checkboxes there are checked.
- Click the "Start" button.
- Wait for the process to finish.
After that, please check if the same issue happens on a minimal installation:
- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Switch to the default theme such as "TwentyTwenty" by going to "WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > themes".
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins" and deactivate all plugins except WPML and its add-ons.
- Check if you can still recreate the issue.
- If not, re-activate your plugins one by one and check the issue each time to find out the plugin that causes the problem.
Thanks.
