Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

I understand what you're looking for. If the "WPML Export and Import" plugin is active on your site, there's no need for you to manually alter the CSV file. While exporting the product, just make sure to map the meta field correctly and the plugin will automatically handle all the necessary adjustments within the CSV file for you.

To summarize the process of importing and exporting WooCommerce products:

- Ensure the "WPML Export and Import" plugin is installed and active on both the Source and Target sites.
- On the Source site, export the default language product using WooCommerce's default export tool. Pay attention to correctly map the meta field. For detailed instructions, refer to: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/#preparing-import-file-wc-exporter.
- After exporting the default language product, switch to another language in your WordPress Dashboard and export all products in that language. Repeat this export process for each language.
- Move to the Target site and import the CSV files one by one.
- Once the CSV file import is complete, navigate to "WPML > Export and Import" on the Target site. If everything is set up correctly, you will see a button labeled "Run WPML Import". Click this button and wait for the plugin to align the relationship between the default and translated products.

I hope you can understand. Feel free to let me know if you encounter any issues during the process or need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help.

Best regards.

Hi Prosenjit

Thanx for your great Support. I understand the importing process for different languages.

My question is, how do you import products which are not yet translated. Meaning we have a WooCommerce Shop with German products and we want to import over an excel sheet the french translation. German is the default language.

I already installed/actived the french language, but there are no french translations yet.
I tried to export the default language with the default WooCommerce Export tool.
Now I want to translate this sheet and change the language field _wpml_import_language_code to "fr" and import this french csv sheet again to WooCommerce.

Is this process possible? Is this the right way to do it?
Thanx for your support.

Best, Jun

Hi Jun,
Thank you for providing clarity on your requirements.

Yes, the method you've outlined for translating WooCommerce products to French is indeed possible. In the CSV file, pay close attention to three specific columns: "_wpml_import_translation_group", "_wpml_import_language_code", and "_wpml_import_source_language_code". It's important to accurately fill in the data in these columns so that after the import, the French and German versions of the product can get connected properly.

For detailed guidance, navigate to "WPML > Export and Import". Choose the option "I’m exporting the content from a different website or system" and click on "Continue". This will provide you with comprehensive instructions on the essential configurations needed for the CSV file before you proceed with the import.

Please let me know if that helps or if you need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help.
