Background of the issue:
I’ve been having some issues with translating content lately. Today I ran an experiment and I can definitely say there’s a problem with how the page composer works with the WPML. I made significant updates to this page hidden link, which is in Italian. Once I finished updating the page (new images, new flags, new content, etc.), I translated it to Spanish with our usual translator. Here’s the outcome hidden link.

Symptoms:
All the links are wrong and pointing to a different race. I expected the links to auto-update correctly, but instead, they auto-updated with wrong links on the page.

Questions:
Can you please help with the issue of links not updating correctly after translation?

Thanks for the video. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

❌ Please back up your database and website ❌

✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Would you please log in to the hidden link">sandbox site and try to reproduce the issue? If the issue is replicable, please let me know how to reproduce it.

If it's not replicable, please create a new test site on your staging site with only the problematic section and translate it to check if the issue persists.

We tested your demo setup and found that the links are working correctly in the translated versions. However, we noticed that you've selected the "Same fields across languages" option (screenshot: hidden link) in ACF, whereas in our setup, we have "Expert" selected.

Additionally, in our setup, we've chosen different translation modes for the fields—such as "Copy," "Copy Once," and "Translate."

Would changing the setting from "Expert" cause any issues? If so, what would be the best solution to align both setups without affecting functionality?

Please create and translate a new test page with only the problematic section.

If we implement the WPML solution you provided on the staging site here:

Would it be safe to do so? The live site is quite large, with a huge number of pages and posts. If we change the translation option as per your reference, is there any chance it could break something on the live site?

On the staging site where you've implemented the changes, we've noticed that the banner image on the homepage has been removed, and on one of the inner pages, a blank button is appearing. So far, this is all we've been able to check, but since the site is quite large, we're not sure how many other areas might be affected. Why WPML data lost while change the translation option for this field group.

We just want to confirm with you that if we proceed with these changes, the site won't break. Otherwise, restoring everything could be a major issue. So, we need a proper and safe solution from your end. Please provide a solution based on live site configuration.
