Background of the issue:
I am trying to ensure that the translated Course portfolios on my Avada client site have the correct slug in their URL according to the language. Currently, the slug '/course-portfolio/' appears in the URL for both English and French, but I want the French version to have '/portfolio-de-cours/' instead. I have been working with Avada and WPML to manage translations and permalinks.
Symptoms:
The translated Course portfolios have '/course-portfolio/' in their slug irrespective of the language, which is not the desired behavior.
Questions:
I've noticed recently that the translated Course portfolios have '/course-portfolio/' in their slug, irrespective of the language.
For example:
English: hidden link
French: hidden link
French (should be): hidden link
Note that the portfolio titles in the URL ARE translated.
1) Have I missed something to do with translating Avada portfolio taxonomies or permalinks?
2) And if I find out how and correct/modify them, will this auto-update the on-page button links I've recently corrected? I don't want fixing this to cause me even more additional work/problems.
3) Does this relate to the setting at hidden link - or should I be looking at 'Post Types Translation' and hidden link or 'Taxonomies Translation' and hidden link
I asked this of Avada support and they referred me back to WPML.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. Our Debugging Procedures
I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link
