This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client's header and footer break when duplicating a page.
Solution:
If you're experiencing issues with your header and footer breaking when duplicating a page, it might be due to the theme's header or footer being hard-coded, which WPML cannot automatically translate. We recommend checking if your theme is compatible with WPML. You can find a guide on how to make your themes and plugins compatible with WPML here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/
Alternatively, consider switching to a theme that is already tested and fully compatible with WPML to avoid such issues. You can find a list of WPML-compatible themes here: https://wpml.org/theme/

If this solution does not apply to your case because it might be outdated or not relevant, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

Could you please share some details on how your header and footer are created? It would be very helpful if you could also provide a few screenshots or examples showing how the issue appears on the frontend.

In some cases, if a theme’s header or footer is hard-coded, WPML cannot translate it automatically. In such situations, the theme needs to be made compatible with WPML.

We have a dedicated guide that explains how to achieve WPML compatibility for themes and plugins:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/

Alternatively, you may want to consider switching to a theme that is already tested and fully compatible with WPML. This can help avoid compatibility issues and reduce the need for custom adjustments.

You can find the list of WPML-compatible themes here:
