Hello,

Thank you for the screencast.

To better understand how the ordering is handled, could you please clarify how the brochure pages are currently ordered?

- Are you using a custom field (for example, a custom order number) to control the order?
If yes, how was this field created and configured?

- If not, is the order perhaps based on the creation date?
In that case, it’s possible that the dates are not synchronized between the original and translated items, which could explain the difference in order.

Once I have this information, I can better advise on how to keep the same order across languages.

Regards,
Dražen

Hello,

Not entirely sure why this is suddenly a new thread, since it is part of an ongoing WordPress WPML connector investigation. Please make sure to pass this to the correct team.

This being said: this sorting order is stored in the native "menu_order" column of the posts table. The question is NOT to make the sort order the same accross languages, the question is to make sure the sorting order is preserved when getting translations from LanguageWire via the LW WPML connector.

Thanks,

Hello,

Thank you for your clarification.

Regarding the ticket history, I checked our system and I don’t see any currently open tickets. The last one I can find is from about 5 months ago and it is already closed, including the related escalation. If this is part of a new issue, please open a new ticket with relevant details and we’ll be happy to assist further or involve the appropriate team.

As for the menu_order, I’m not fully sure whether you are using a custom sorting logic or just the default WordPress behavior.

If it’s default sorting, WordPress may in some cases fall back to the creation date. If the original and translated posts don’t share the same date, that could explain the difference in order. In that case, you can enable date synchronization in WPML → Settings, which ensures the same publish date is preserved across translations.

If you are using a custom plugin or custom logic to control the ordering, it’s possible that this is not being synchronized during translation, and we would need to investigate that further.

Please let me know further info.

Kind regards,
Dražen

Please align this issue with your connector team (Ahmed), who is fully up to date with the history of this ticket. Thanks!
