This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
After upgrading WPML to version 4.8.6, the client's test websites experienced toggling between the English and Dutch pages until an NS_ERROR_REDIRECT_LOOP was reported in the browser, indicating that the page isn’t redirecting properly.
Solution:
We recommended creating a staging environment of the website and running it with a minimal setup to determine if the problem persists. The client should:
1) Update WordPress to version 6.9.
2) Deactivate all additional plugins not related to WPML and our add-ons to see if the issue still occurs. If it does, we will attempt to replicate it on a test site.
3) If the problem disappears, gradually reactivate the plugins one by one or in small groups to identify the plugin causing the issue.

If this solution does not resolve the issue or seems irrelevant due to updates or different circumstances, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Hello,

It might be the case that there is a conflict between WPML and another plugin or the theme you are using.

Could you please create a copy or staging environment of the website and try running it with a minimal setup to determine if the problem persists?

You mentioned already that the issue persists when using a default theme like Twenty Twenty Five.

I further suggest updating WordPress to version 6.9.

If the issue persists:

1) Deactivate all additional plugins that are not related to WPML and our add-ons. If the issue persists, please let me know, and I will try to replicate it on a test site.

2) If the problem disappears, start reactivating the plugins one by one, or activate them in small groups. This way, check where the problem reappears to identify the plugin causing it.

Once we have identified the cause, we can try to replicate the problem and then escalate it internally. In this case, I'll provide a test site using WPML.

Best regards,
Andreas

Hi Andreas, thanks for your support! We decided to refresh our test websites with the current working production status. I expect that will solve the problem.

With best regards,
