This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is trying to change the media translation of a PDF on their website but the French version of the PDF still displays in English.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you manually translate the PDF file link. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Open the translation editor.
2. Search for the PDF link by following this guide: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/#translating-external-links
3. If the link appears in the result, as the translation of it, add the link to the translated PDF file.
4. Complete the translation.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, please open a new support ticket. Background of the issue:
I am trying to change the media translation of a PDF on my website, hidden link. Specifically, I want the French version of the PDF to appear on this page: hidden link. I am not following any specific documentation.

Symptoms:
The media translation of the PDF is not working as expected; it still shows the English version instead of the French version.

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand what you're looking for. If the PDF is stored as a link, translating it through Media Translation won't work in this case. You'll need to manually translate the PDF file link and as a translation, add the link to the translated version of the PDF. Please try the following steps and check if that helps in solving the issue.

- Please open the translation editor.
- Search for the PDF link by following this guide: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/#translating-external-links
- If the link appears in the result, as the translation of it, add link to the translated PDF file.
- Complete the translation.

I hope the steps above will help in displaying the translated PDF. Feel free to let me know if you need further assistance or clarification in this matter. I'll be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi There,
Thank you for the update!

As a translation, if you add the name of the PDF file you want to appear in the other language, does that help display the correct PDF in the translated version?

Could you please try to replicate the issue on our Sandbox site? The autologin link to the Sandbox is given below.

- hidden link

All the necessary plugins are installed in the sandbox. Please activate them and complete the setup. If any additional plugins are required to recreate the issue, feel free to install those as well. Once everything is set up, upload both the main and translated PDF files, add them to a page, translate the page, and check if you can replicate the issue in the sandbox.

If so, please let me know the steps to see the issue. I will check and try my best to assist you in solving the matter. If required, the issue will be escalated to the 2nd tier team for further investigation.

Looking forward to your response and I truly appreciate your patience and kind cooperation in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
