This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing an issue where the site logo of the English translation displays a random image instead of the uploaded site logo in the Storefront settings, even though you've added

admin_texts_site_logo

to the String Translation, the problem might be due to a must-use plugin affecting image translations.
Solution:
We recommend checking if there is a must-use plugin active on your main website that could be affecting your subsites. In this case, the plugin identified was 'network-media-library'. Disabling this plugin via File Manager, re-uploading the logo image, and setting it via the theme customizer resolved the issue. If you're unsure how to proceed or need further assistance, we suggest visiting our support forum at https://wpml.org/forums/.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket.

The site logo of the English translation shows a random image instead of the uploaded site logo in the Storefront settings. I already added the admin_texts_site_logo to the String translation, but this isn't working.

Hello,

Just to keep you updated, I’m still working on creating a copy of the site, and the process is currently in progress.

Once the copy is ready, I’ll continue checking and debugging the issue and will update you accordingly. Most likely, I’ll have more information to share tomorrow.

Regards,
Drazen

Hello,

Thank you for your patience.

I’ve tried several different ways to create a local copy of your website and deploy it, but each attempt failed for different reasons.

If possible, could you please provide one of the following so we can debug the issue further in a safe environment:

1) A ZIP archive of the website files along with a database dump, so we can try deploying the site locally.

2) A staging site, where we can safely investigate the issue further.

Either option would help us continue troubleshooting.

Regards,
Drazen

Hi Drazen,

Sorry for my late reply, I didn’t receive an email notification about the updates in the ticket. I’ve set up a staging environment at staging.airtrack-europe.com, which also includes a staging domain for staging.airtrackschweiz.ch within the multisite, since the issues occur on that live site (the other domains won’t work). The login details are the same as for the live website. Will you be able to continue from here? Let me know!

Best, Robin

Hi Robin,

Thanks for the effort and for setting up the staging environment, much appreciated.

I’ve checked the staging site and confirmed the issue. I’ve now escalated this to our 2nd-tier team so they can investigate it further in more detail.

I will update you here as soon as we have some news. Note it may take a day or two.

Best regards,
Drazen

Hello Robin,

good news, we found the cause of the issue. It was a must-use plugin called network-media-library. It appeared as active only on the main website, but it was affecting the subsites as well. I am not familiar with this plugin nor what it does, but seems to cause issue with translated images.

I disabled the plugin via File manager, re-uploaded the logo image and set it via theme customizer, and everything is now working correctly.

Hi Drazen,

That’s really great to hear! I didn’t realize there was a must‑use plugin on the server, but that definitely explains a lot. I’m really glad you discovered this and that everything works properly without the plugin. I’ll deactivate it on the live website as well, hopefully that resolves all the issues 🙂

Thanks, and have a wonderful day!

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, the must-use plugin was the key factor here, and once it was disabled, everything worked as expected. Deactivating it on the live site as well sounds like the right next step, and it should resolve the remaining issues.

If anything unexpected comes up after that, feel free to let me know.

Have a great day too!

Best regards,
Drazen
