This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where the WPML Glossary is not updating because the number of translation jobs exceeds the 2000 job limit, currently standing at 3620 jobs.
Solution:
We recommend reducing the number of jobs to below the 2000 limit to allow the Glossary to update. You can achieve this by navigating to WPML->Translation Management. Here, bulk select up to 1620 items and send them for translation. This step is crucial if it's important to automatically retranslate all existing jobs with Glossary updates.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to ensure that certain terms, like some product names, are not translated on my site hidden link. I uploaded these terms to the WPML Glossary, but it has been stuck for the last 2 days.

Symptoms:
The Glossary is not updating and shows the message: 'Retranslation attempted 2 days ago but didn’t start because you have 3620 jobs that require an update which is over our 2000 jobs limit. You can use bulk automatic translation for some of these jobs to get below this limit and then try again.'

Questions:
How can I resolve the issue of the Glossary being stuck due to the job limit?
What steps should I take to use bulk automatic translation to reduce the number of jobs?

Hello,

It looks like your site has a lot of content that needs to be updated, and you are running into a current usage limit, which should prevent overload on our servers.

In such a case, please go to WPML > Translation Management > Dashboard and send the products again to automatic translations.

When sending the jobs, make sure to look out for this dialog at the end of the Dashboard page:

Some of the content you want to translate is already translated
What do you want to do with the content that's already translated?

Here, please select:
"Leave existing translations as they are"

If you do not choose these options, the existing translations will get overwritten, and you will get charged new credits.

Please give this a try, and let us know if it worked out.

IMPORTANT:
Please note that WPML Glossary integration works only with DeepL and WPML AI — not with Microsoft or Google engines.

Once you lower the job count to 2000 or less, you should be able to use the Glossary Feature for updating the translation in bulk.

Let us know if further assistance will be needed.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello Andreas,

I have tried as your instruction: sent products to automatic translation and select "Leave existing translations as they are". But it is not working. not changes on job limit. Dee folllowing error:

"Retranslation attempted 10 minutes ago but didn't start because you have 3620 jobs that require an update which is over our 2000 jobs limit. You can use bulk automatic translation for some of these jobs to get below this limit and then try again."

Please help us to fix this.

Hi there,

When you go to WPML->Translation Management and filter by jobs that need an update, what are your results?

You should be able to see a total number at the bottom of the page.

Share the number with me please.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing this with us!

I understand what is happening.

The Glossary has been updated, therefore if you go to WPML->Translation Management->Translation Tools->Glossary you can click on the button to Update Existing Translations.

The warning is letting you know "Retranslation attempted [x] days ago but didn't start because you have 3620 jobs that require an update which is over our 2000 jobs limit. You can use bulk automatic translation for some of these jobs to get below this limit and then try again."

It's not looking for specific jobs that need an update, instead it's saying that if you wish to update your existing jobs with the Glossary updates and use the bulk button you need to be under 2000 jobs, since there are so many, the workaround is to go to WPML->Translation Management-> Bulk select items up to 1620 of them and send them for translation.

You don't have to do this, and I would recommend doing this only if it's important to automatically re translate all existing jobs with Glossary updates.
To resolve please do the following:

Hi,

I think above answer is incomplete:

You said 'To resolve please do the following:'
But there is no text after following?

Thanks

Hi there, Bobby is off for a bit so I'm stepping in to help out with this ticket. The workaround is to go to WPML->Translation Management-> Bulk select items up to 1620 of them and send them for translation. As Bobby noted, You don't have to do this, and it is recommend doing this only if it's important to automatically re translate all existing jobs with Glossary updates.

Please let us know if the issue remains after you have tried these steps.
