Background of the issue:
I'm trying to translate the page on a site under development using WPML.
hidden link

Symptoms:
I got an error that the ATE limit is exceeded.

Questions:
I'm using Spectra and Gutenberg blocks to build pages, and I'm hitting the 1MB ATE limit on some key pages. Is it possible to increase this limit for my domain so I can use Advanced Translation Editor on larger content pages? the ATE limit exceeded error?

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Could you kindly provide the URL of the Advanced Translation Editor page you're trying to access? I'll need the translation job ID to check it on our translation server and identify what might be preventing the page from being translated.

Thanks for your reply. I've checked your Xliff translated Xliff file and I noticed that lots of HTML code is being included as shown in the attached screenshot. This is breaking the translation.

I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

I can make the test website but I think it's not necessary. I shared information about the plugins which I use on the website, Astra Pro, Spectra Pro, Yoast, Yoast duplicate post, WordFence and your plugin, that's it. So there's no plugin issue. I tried also to translate some other page and it's the same issue. And on the page which I sent you there's some HTML block with code on the page. Is there a chance that you can increase the limit on your server?

Thanks for your reply.

No, that is not how it works. Increasing the server limit will not solve this. We need to exclude the HTML codes and prevent it from showing up in the translation. Could you install the same theme and plugin here on our sandbox site hidden link and create a page with the same content? Then, we will check and see what's going on.

Ok, understand. I created the page on your sandbox site with the same content, theme and plugins. Please check.

Thanks for your reply. I can replicate the issue on our dev site and I will escalate this to our 2nd Tier Support for further investigation.

Thanks for waiting. Based on feedback from our 2nd Tier Support, please follow these steps:

1. Disable "Page builders options > Send to translation the content of raw HTML cells" in WPML > Settings, as indicated in the screenshot provided.

2. Review your page content. There's a Custom HTML block containing a large SVG element, as shown in the attached screenshot. Consider an alternative method to display the SVG to avoid embedding the extensive SVG declaration directly within the post content.

Thanks for your patience. Our 2nd Tier Support shared another workaround. Please insert the custom XML configuration below into WPML > Settings > Custom XML Configuration.

<wpml-config>
  <gutenberg-blocks>
    <gutenberg-block type="core/html" translate="0">
      <xpath>//</xpath>
    </gutenberg-block>
  </gutenberg-blocks>
</wpml-config>

Once you've done that, please resave your primary language page and retranslate the page.
